‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ will now be released directly on OTT.

Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s film Bhool Chuk Maaf was going to be released in theaters across the country on 09 May. But due to Operation Sindoor and the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, Maddock Films canceled the theatrical release of this picture. The makers decided that the film will now be released directly on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on May 16. In this connection, PVR-Inox has filed a case of Rs 60 crore against Maddock Films.
According to Pinkvilla’s report, PVR-Inox sent a legal notice to Maddock Films on Friday morning, May 09. They said that they have suffered huge losses due to the sudden cancellation of the release of ‘Bhool Chook Maaf’. PVR-Inox has also written in its complaint that the makers of ‘Bhool Chook Maaf’ did not release this film in theaters because its advance booking numbers were very low.
Pinkvilla ran the news quoting sources. A source associated with Maddock Films said,
“They (Maddock Films) are not responsible for answering anyone. Cinema halls are closed in Jodhpur and Punjab. While night shows of cinema halls are not running in cities like Delhi. Due to this, the makers stopped the release of ‘Bhool Chook Maaf’. Even if Maddock had postponed the release for a month, the chances of the film getting leaked would have increased. Maddock has invested money in ‘Bhool Chook Maaf’, so the final decision will be theirs. PVR-Inox has no role in this decision making process.”
