Shaurya Chakra Awarded to Reasi's SPO Abdul Latif for Heroic Anti-Terror Operation
President Draupadi Murmu awarded the Shaurya Chakra to Special Police Officer (SPO) Abdul Latif of Reasi district. In 2023, due to Latif’s vigilance, the security forces killed a foreign terrorist. Two armed terrorists had entered Latif’s house. Latif immediately informed the police, after which the security forces laid siege and killed a terrorist in retaliation.
Correspondent, Reasi. President Draupadi Murmu has awarded the Shaurya Chakra to Special Police Officer (SPO) Abdul Latif in Reasi district. Due to Latif’s intelligence, the security forces killed a foreign terrorist in the year 2023. On the morning of 4th September, two armed terrorists barged into Latif’s house in Hisab Gali of Tully Upper B Panchayat of Chasana Tehsil. They asked the family members to make tea and drank it and then asked them to rest for a while. Both the terrorists fell asleep.
Seeing the opportunity, Latif informed the police. Police and security forces along with the members of the village security committee cordoned off the house. The terrorists started firing from inside the house.
The security forces also started retaliatory action against them. One foreign terrorist was killed while trying to escape by breaking the cordon while the other one ran away.
