After 18 days of increasing tension between India and Pakistan and four days of military conflict, on May 10, both countries agreed to a ceasefire effective from 5 pm. This agreement came from Pakistan via a phone call to the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of the Indian Army. After this, both sides agreed to stop all land, air and sea military activities. India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed this agreement through a press conference and social media. At the same time, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also said that about three dozen other countries played a role in the diplomacy to reach this ceasefire. But India made it clear that this is a bilateral matter.
